Nassau and Hagan Elementary Schools

Joseph Bruchac [2011-2012]
Joseph Bruchac will be visiting Hagan and Nassau Elementary Schools on March 27th and 28th.  Joseph Bruchac creates poetry, short stories, novels, anthologies and music that reflect his Abenaki Indian heritage and Native American traditions.  He is the author of more than 70 books for children and adults.

David A. Adler [2010-2011]

David A. Adler visited Nassau and Hagan  Elementary Schools on April 5th and 6th, 2011.  Mr. Adler is the author of the Cam Jansen, Andy Russell and Bones series, as well as many biographies.  He is the author of more than 200 books.  Mr. Adler held assemblies with all grade levels and talked about his books and his writing process.


Charles R. Smith, Jr. [2010-2011]
Charles R. Smith, Jr. visited Nassau Elementary School as part of this year's Parents As Reading Partners (PARP) program.  The theme was sports and    Mr. Smith's books connected nicely with this.  He combines his love of sports and poetry to create books that appeal to readers of all ages.

Kalli Dakos [2009-2010]
Kalli Dakos visited Nassau and Hagan Elementary Schools on May 17th and 18th, 2010.  She is the best selling author of poetry books about school life.  Four of her books are Children’s Choice Selections from the International Reading Association.

Ann McGovern [2007 -2008]
Ann McGovern visited Nassau and Hagan Elementary Schools on April 3, 2008. She has written over 50 children's books! She writes stories and picture books, biographies, funny books, folk tales, poetry, question and answer books about life in long-ago American, animals, adventures in far-away places, books about the sea and its creatures, and a whole lot more.
