This week in the Spackenkill High School cafeteria, a student reported finding an insect in a cup of fruit that was originally packaged in a can. Staff immediately removed the product from the serving line and  provided a different fruit choice. The vendor was notified and is required to contact the manufacturer. All unused product will be returned to the vendor. This is the first such occurrence with this long-standing vendor, however, we will not purchase the product again until we are assured that this is an isolated incident within the county. As a courtesy, we have notified neighboring school districts in the event that they are using the same product. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Lisa French at 845-463-7836.
